Feasibility of maintaining a portfolio for a professorial appointment in obstetrics and gynaecology in a low resource setting

Objective: The main objective of this study is to assess the feasibility in replacing portfolio a low resource setting and its acceptance amongst students staff. Synopsis: for with regards using portfolios: it feasible 2 month professorial appointment Methods: was conducted on 259 final year medical period two years from 2016 2018, student maintained by them during their gynaecology obstetrics which 8 weeks duration, feedbacks provided Results: Around mini clinical evaluation exercise (CEX) were completed 1 OSAT each five different technical skills all students. All structured assessment (OSATS) episiotomy suturing, urine catherization cannulation, 96% assessed artificial rupture membrane (ARM) up as an intravenous drip. Students managed obtain feedback patients, peers nursing officers.100% positive given 97% 92% officers. 80% logs On average reflective writings per student. found useful tool stated that can be easily completed. Conclusion: Introduction possible, good satisfaction despite higher number student: staff ratios.
